Relive the Magic of MM2's 2016 Halloween and Christmas Events

Step back into 2016 and explore two of the most memorable seasonal events in Roblox’s Murder Mystery 2. From spooky knives to holiday toy crafting and Santa’s Workshop, this deep dive covers everything that made these events unforgettable.

🎉 2016 Holiday Events in Murder Mystery 2 (MM2)

Back in 2016, Murder Mystery 2 on Roblox hosted two major holiday events that really got the community buzzing: the Halloween Event and the Christmas Event. Each one brought new gameplay twists, exclusive rewards, and festive vibes that players loved.

🎃 Halloween Event 2016

The Halloween festivities kicked off on October 28, 2016, introducing a spooky theme packed with limited-time items and collectibles. Players had the chance to grab these exclusive goodies by unboxing or trading during the event.

🔓 Unboxable Items

  • Hallows Edge – Godly Knife
  • Scratch – Rare Knife
  • Other themed items: Orange Marble, Bats, Wolf, Moons, Vampire, Ghosty, Brains, Witch, Bones (all with different rarities)

These items were only available during the event and have since become prized collectibles within the MM2 trading community.

🎄 Christmas Event 2016

The holiday cheer didn’t stop there! The Christmas Event ran from December 25, 2016, to January 13, 2017. It introduced a whole new system for crafting, salvaging, and trading, all wrapped up in a festive environment.

🧸 Crafting & Salvaging

Players could break down (salvage) weapons by rarity to collect parts used to craft toys:

  • Common Weapons: Basketball Rubber
  • Uncommon Weapons: Toy Robot Parts
  • Rare Weapons: Skateboard Parts
  • Legendary Weapons: Game System Parts

These parts were then used to build toys, like Game Systems, which could be wrapped and traded for in-game currency.

🎅 Santa’s Workshop

This was the heart of the event! At Santa’s Workshop, players could:

  • Buy items using Blue Tokens or Diamonds
  • Exchange toys for Blue or Red Tokens
  • Purchase Wrapping Paper in Red, Purple, or Gold – each giving better rewards when trading wrapped toys

For example, 1 Red Token could be swapped for 50 Blue Tokens—and vice versa.

🎁 Wrapping Paper Bonuses

Wrapping your toys before trading them gave a bonus to your token rewards:

  • Red Wrapping Paper: x1 bonus
  • Purple Wrapping Paper: x2 bonus
  • Gold Wrapping Paper: x3 bonus

The higher the quality of the wrap, the more you earned. It was a clever way to get players to invest more into the system.

🧠 Fun Facts

  • This event introduced the Ancient weapon rarity for the first time.
  • It also marked the debut of toy crafting mechanics in MM2.
  • Eagle-eyed players could find a hidden Slouse shrine in the event lobby.
