Seed Stages Update Out Now!

The latest Grow a Garden update introduces a multi-stage seed growth system and a season pass, plus new plants, pets, items, mutations, cosmetics, and quality-of-life improvements for mobile and console. This guide summarizes everything players need to know about evolving seeds, earning season pass rewards, and finding the new content added in this update.

Seed Stages: How the 4-Stage Seed Evolution Works

New seed stages allow players to grow seeds through four evolution stages from small starter sprouts to fully evolved stage four plants that are larger and more detailed. Each seed has four visual and mechanical stages: seedling, young plant, mature plant, and final evolved plant. Tend staged plants using fruits and gears to increase size and growth speed. When a stage is fully grown, harvest and submit it to progress to the next stage. There are three tiers of stage rewards for completing growth milestones, which contain seeds, currency, and cosmetics tailored to players looking for step-by-step seed evolution strategies.

Season Pass: Rewards, Levels, and Shop

The new Season Pass introduces 50 progression levels filled with seeds, pets, a new currency, and additional rewards. Daily quests and challenges help both free and premium players progress through the Season Pass. The Season Pass Shop unlocks extra seeds, gear, and cosmetic items using season pass points, offering players guidance for maximizing seasonal rewards and prioritizing purchases.

New Plants Added in This Update

Key new plants and evolvable crops added to the game include:

  • Crimson Thorn — a high-value seasonal plant
  • Multitrap — unique mechanics for trapping resources
  • Naval Wort — sea-themed crop for water biomes
  • Inferno Quince — heat-based effects and bonuses
  • Corpse Flower — rare, high-rarity plant
  • Mandrone Berry — fast-growing berry crop
  • Black Bat Flower — night-biome advantages
  • Sundew — sticky harvest mechanics
  • Evo Beetroot (Tier I–IV) — tiered evolution series
  • Evo Blueberries (Tier I–IV) — multi-tier berry series
  • Evo Pumpkin (Tier I–IV) — seasonal pumpkin tiers
  • Evo Mushroom (Tier I–IV) — tiered mushroom evolution

This update emphasizes plant progression and tiered crops that scale with seed stage growth and player investment.

Pets: New Companions

New pets help with farming and exploration. Notable additions this update include the Tiger and the Mizuchi, plus five or more additional pets available through new eggs, crates, and events. The Jungle Egg and other containers give players multiple ways to acquire pets during the season.

New Items and Packs

  • Prime Seed Pack — contains 6 possible seeds per pack
  • Prime Crate — contains 7 possible cosmetics
  • Jungle Egg — contains up to 5 possible pets
  • Grow All gear — a convenience item that accelerates simultaneous growth across multiple plants

tip: track which pack types yield the seeds or cosmetics you need and prioritize Season Pass Shop purchases for targeted progression.

Events, Weather, and Mutations

This update added various new weather effects and new mutation types that affect crop outcomes and rarities. There are three highlighted new mutation combos:

  • Plagued — causes plague-type mutation traits on affected crops
  • Astral — cosmic-themed mutation with special visual effects
  • Sizzled — heat-based mutation with burn-style bonuses

Mutations and weather changes are designed to create fresh gameplay loops and encourage players to adapt seed strategies for each event.

Cosmetics and Visual Updates

More than 20 new cosmetics were added, including plant trait signs and visual items for avatars and garden spaces. Cosmetic changes are accessible through the Prime Crate, Season Pass rewards, and the expanded cosmetic shop (now with a second tab for easier navigation).

Fixes, Changes, and Quality of Life Improvements

  • Seed shop improvements with restock animations and new restock SFX
  • Added a second tab to the cosmetic shop for faster browsing
  • Mobile and console improvements for performance and usability
  • Minor tweaks to the forever pack and UI improvements
  • Proximity prompt improvements and other bug fixes

These QOL changes aim to make the seed evolution loop and seasonal progression smoother for long-term players.
